BACKRita is an Associate in the Corporate and Commercial practice of the firm. Her practice focuses on transactional, corporate and commercial matters, including corporate structuring and restructuring, reorganizations, joint ventures, corporate governance, acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and liquidations.
She advises regional and international clients on the establishment, structuring and reorganization of business operations in the UAE, both onshore and across various free zones. Her experience includes assisting with day-to-day corporate legal support, reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial and complex agreements, preparing corporate documentation, and transactional documents.
Rita also advises on corporate governance and assists clients with labour and employment-related issues in the UAE (including onshore, free zones, and financial free zones).
Before focusing on corporate and commercial transactions, Rita gained extensive experience in litigation and dispute-related matters in Lebanon. She drafted legal memoranda, motions, briefs, pleadings, and other documents in complex public and private litigation matters, participated in pre-litigation settlement discussions and negotiations. Her litigation background provides her with a strong analytical foundation and a practical understanding of risk assessment in transactional and advisory work.
Rita was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 2022. She was selected by both the Beirut Bar and the Paris Bar to participate in the International Internship Program in Paris and completed an internship at a French law firm, where she assisted the Litigation and Restructuring departments.
On a personal note, Rita is a dedicated civil activist and previously volunteered with the Lebanese Red Cross for four years.
